Week of 02/27/2019
This week the team has purchased most of the parts needed for our designs. An order was placed and received from Mcmaster Carr which included most of the items needed for our designs. A 4' x 4' steel sheet was purchased form Sim's metal to water jet cut parts for the guide arm and articulation system. We are working on engineering drawings and drawing for the water jet machine. We would like to send our design to be cut as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Furthermore, the braking system has been fully redesigned and completed. The braking system will be machined using the machining tools at makerspace.
For the articulation system most of the parts needed to be optimized to fit standard size parts.
The following picture shows a pin that was increased in size to fit a standard size ring.
Because of this most parts needed to be changed too. Including the housings the articulation system.
Final drawings of all parts are finished and are being sent to the central shop. Kyle from the central shop has confirmed that the complex parts that were sent are manufacturable at the central shop
